We asked George : Introduce yourself, your age, your country, your hobby ?
He said : I am George from Romania, I have 43 years old and I have many hobbies like astronomy, reading, doing all kind of sports, but the most important is biking, as it is become the way of my life.
Question : What are your most important experiences in traveling on a bicycle?
He said : In this moment of my life the most important experiences in traveling by bike are related to people. I like to see beautiful nature, or to explore history of a country, but meeting people that are open at least for a conversion bring me more joy than anything. People are the colour of my trip and the nature is the paper where these colour make the whole picture. Without people my trips can be like a food which is beautiful but will not have taste, like the a tunisian food without spices.
Question: Your visit to Tunisia. How was your impression about it?
He said: My trip in Tunisia was so full of new for me. It was also first time in Africa. So it starts with some problems in the police borders, but once I get in, a whole universe open for me. Day by day I start to discover this world, I learn, I enjoyed, I struggled some times, but in the end I left the country with a feeling that I left my home. Tunisia is one of the country that have a special place in my heart and I think that every time when I will think to these 41 days spent here I will have a smile in my soul.
Question : How did you finance your trip, was money a barrier?
He said : My all money used in bike trips come from savings. The same was for this trip also.
Question : What are your tips for those who want to travel on a bicycle ?
He said : The main tip is that is doesn’t matter what bike you have, where you want to go orwhat equipment do you have, only one thing matter, first step – start the journey. After that, everything will come like presents.
Rumi said: “As you start to walk on the way, the way appears.”
Question: What are the most important difficulties you experienced during your adventure ?
He said: Because I travel alone the most difficult experience is when I have health issues and is nobody there to give me a good word or a help. Luckily I didn’t have very serious health problems to deal with.
